HardKnockCyphers, Nigeria’s First Street Rap Battle Set to Happen in Owerri

A first of it’s kind street rap battle is set to happen in Owerri very soon. According to a release from the lead organizer and CEO of E-TEN Productions, Mr Uzodinma Akalonu (U-Zone),¬†HardKnock Cyphers is a street rap battle event scheduled to hold for the first time in Owerri, South East, Nigeria. It is put together by E-Ten Productions and is set to showcase all the elements of hip hop from emceeing, DJying, beat-boxing, spoken words and poetry, graffiti and arts, b-boy dance and stunts etc. It will run concurrently with a school called “The School of HardKnocks” where participants will receive training from industry professionals on developing their talents and how to use it to cause change in their society. We call it “hip hop with values.”

Auditions will hold from April, 2016 leading to final battle on May 22nd 2016.

Interested participants are expected to pick up their forms for One thousand naira only (N 1000) at E-Ten Productions office, No. 14 Alaenyi Street behind Cherubim Junction, Off Wetheral road, Owerri Imo state or pay to Access Bank (Account Name: E-Ten Productions; Account Number: 0696085554) and text name and teller number to 07083469243.

Auditions will kick off immediately after we close sales of forms and we will screen participants down to the last eight (8) emcees for the ultimate showdown grand finale.

NB:¬† The event is open to every age category and gender. The winner of the “HardKnock Cyphers” Street rap battle will be rewarded with 1 million naira (N1 000 000) prize money.
