President of Liberia, Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was honoured yesterday with a Chieftaincy title of ‘Ada Di Oha Nma’ (the daughter that is good for all) of Imo State.

The chieftaincy title was conferred on her by Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri at Eze Imo Palace Owerri, few hours after her arrival on Thursday, November 9th, 2017.

The August visitor to the state arrived through the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, where the Executive Governor, Rochas Okorocha received her in the company of his wife, and other state dignitaries.

She is on a 2-days visit to the state on the invitation of the Rochas Foundation College of Africa.  Conferring the award on her, Eze Sam Ohiri said she has done extremely well for the African continent and deserves to be honoured.

Receiving the award, Mrs. Sirleaf said she is happy that Africa hasn’t done badly at all in all ramifications, adding that with the unity of purpose, hard work, and education, Africa would soon get to the promised land.

The governor in his speech described her as a pride to the African continent and noted that her coming was exciting and will bring glad tidings to the state.

On Friday, she will also interact with students of Rochas Foundation College of Africa, and particularly parley with Liberian students whose parents died during the Ebola eruption in Liberia.

She will deliver a lecture to Imo Women on the title ‘Women in Politics’ after which she will be honoured with Imo Merit award, a road will be named after her, and a statue will be unveiled in her honour.

Stay tuned as we bring you reactions and/ or updates from Imo People about her visit.
