The Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) is collaborating with a German institution to produce the first indigenous car in Africa (Africar). This was made known by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Chigozie Asiabaka on Tuesday.
He made the revelation during a tour of the infrastructural achievements of his administration in the school. He said the institution has established a link with Tinco University of Monic, which specialised in the manufacture of cars. He said the students of FUTO would undergo training at the institution in Germany.
He also said that following their training abroad, the students would return to the country to begin manufacturing the first “Africar” in the University.
