MasterCard, a global brand in the provision of online payment solutions recently invited users and FANS to share their stories and experiences in the Priceless Africa contest. The contest involved users sharing their MasterCard story online. After this, they shortlisted 25 submissions and invited them to Lagos for the next stage which involved presenting their stories in a studio to some celebrity judges which included AliBaba, the popular Nigerian Comedian, Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, Uche Pedro, founder of one Nigeria’s most successful blog, bellanaija.com, Tolu Oniru, an award winning OAP and Omokehinde Ojomujide, Mastercard area business head for West Africa.

Following the presentations which took almost the whole day, 8 finalists emerged and their videos have been uploaded online for viewers to vote their favorite stories.

One of the 8 finalists is Chibuike Alagboso, a Medical Laboratory Science graduate of Imo State University and an Imo State indigene. He shared his story of how he is using his MasterCard to help and provide solutions to not just himself, but to friends, family and colleagues. He said his MasterCard also enables him to run a mini importation business without having to step out of his room or travel out of the country.

According to him, “His MasterCard helps him break payment barriers” and “provides limitless possibilities”.

He is soliciting the support of his friends and colleagues and everyone who uses the internet to vote for his story to enable him win an all-expense paid trip to Lisbon to watch the UEFA Champions league. The trip is also courtesy of MasterCard. He said the trip means a lot to him because besides witnessing one of the biggest soccer events in the world, it will inspire him to continue doing what loves which is assisting people pay for and ship quality goods from outside the country. He said it will also provide him with insight on how some big firms operate and he hopes to apply some of the knowledge acquired during the trip to his own business when he returns home. He strongly believes in self-employment and entrepreneurship and hopes to create jobs by helping people solve their payment problems and other social problems.
