INEC announces April 25th as date for Imo Supplementary elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced April 25th for the supplementary elections in the state to enable them resolve the inconsistencies surrounding last Saturday’s governorship elections in the state.

The election was declared inconclusive by the state returning officer because of the disparities between the winning margin the total number of canceled votes. There was wide spread cases of violence, intimidation and destruction of election materials across the state.

According to a very reliable source, the supplementary elections will hold in all local government areas in the state excluding Ahiazu Mbaise, Oguta South and North, and Owerri Municipal.

Different organizations and individuals have continued to call on INEC to ensure that the election is conducted in a free and fair manner to avoid problems in the state.
