The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Imo State University Chapter called off it’s strike action yesterday. The members of the union embarked on the strike to agitate for the non payment of their two months outstanding salaries.
A lecturer and member of the union informed me that the salaries have been paid to them. The last payment was received on Tuesday, 19th of May and they have been instructed to resume work immediately. Lectures have also commenced as some departments in the department of Humanities had lectures yesterday.
So it appears that strike is the only language understood by policy makers in Nigeria.
