Getting to work today was costly today for most residents of Owerri as the price hike of fuel across the nation hits town. A litre is selling as high as N150 and keke operators are now charging higher than their usual fares for their services. This appears to be a matter of individual difference though as some are still collecting the old fares.
Some people who commented on the situation said it is yet to hit very hard on Owerri as most other places are selling much more higher than Owerri and it is not even readily available for purchase.
The price hike is also adversely affecting business especially those who rely a lot on electricity to do their businesses.
