This is what happened to Imo state bailout funds (Infographic)
The issue of bailout funds released to certain states last year by the federal government to help offset unpaid salaries is not a new conversation anymore. However, there have been series of reports and allegations of mismanagement of the funds by some states.
This led the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) to conduct investigations to find out how the funds were managed. Their findings where presented in an interesting infographic prepared by BudgIT, an organization that ensures transparency in government dealings by using engaging visuals and inforgraphic to help citizens understand and make sense of data from government and other agencies.
The investigation was done in 23 states out of the total of 27 states that received the bail out funds. Check out how Imo state’s fund was managed in the image below.
