Former Liberian First Lady and a senior ranking Senator in the country , Dr Jewel Howard-Taylor, has commended Governor Rochas for honouring the Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf with a befitting statue.

Criticisms have continued to trail the erection and commissioning of statues of Presidents Jacob Zuma of South Africa and Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia in Owerri, the Imo state capital, by Governor Okorocha.

But Dr. Taylor commended the Imo State governor in her keynote address at the opening of a three-day summit organised by the Oyo State Officials’ Wives Association (OYSOWA), which is taking place at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan.

The event had in attendance Governors Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, and Serieke Dickson of Bayelsa State.

Also, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, the wife of Oyo State governor; Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha, wife of Imo State governor,  and wives of governors from Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Delta, Edo, Abia, Enugu and Nasarawa states attended the event.
